History & Background
Most of the owners and employees of Laridian are former employees
of Parsons Technology, developers of QuickVerse Bible software for
Windows.
- Laridian President Craig Rairdin wrote
the first version of QuickVerse and took it to Parsons in 1988
after selling it from his home for several months. Craig became
a company Vice President at Parsons, where he built the Church
Software Division into the largest Bible software publisher in
the world.
- Laridian Vice President Jeff Wheeler came
to Parsons in 1989 and headed up development for QuickVerse, Membership
Plus, and all other Church Software Division products.
Laridian Vice President Jim VanDuzer was hired by Parsons in 1995
as Director of Electronic Publishing and was responsible for bringing
over 500 titles into the QuickVerse family.
- Laridian Vice President Michelle Stramel
spent eight years at Parsons Technology where she served most
recently as Marketing Manager for the Parsons Church line of Bible
and church management software.
- Laridian Director of Customer Service Patty
Brockett served in various positions during her eight years at
Parsons Technology, including outbound telemarketing, inbound
sales, online support and phone support. In her most recent position
she was responsible for coordinating the efforts of technical
support, marketing, and development as they related to customer
support issues on Parsons Church products.
- Laridian Senior Software Developer Scott
Gray was a Senior Programmer at Parsons Technology for two years.
He was responsible for several programming tasks related to QuickVerse,
including doing most of the implementation of the QuickVerse Multimedia
Life Application Bible.
Craig and Jim are also credited with the creation
of the Standard Template for Electronic Publishing (STEP) standard
data format for Bible reference materials. Scott left Parsons in
October 1998; Craig in December 1998; Jim and Jeff in January 1999;
Patty in September 2000.
